I trained as a Graphic Designer, specialising in Lettering and Typography at Exeter College of Art. After working in graphics for several years I decided to focus on calligraphy.
I am a fellow of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators and chaired the organisation for 3 years. I am also a fellow of the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society (CLAS) and am a CLAS-Accredited Tutor.
I was tutored by David Harris, Gaynor Goffe and Gerald Mynott. While studying with Gerald at Reigate College of Art I received awards from the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and the Scriveners Company.
My focus over recent years has been on the use of traditional skills and materials, such as gilding and calligraphy on vellum.
